A favourite shirt, jumper or cardigan often becomes one of the hardest things to part with after losing someone you love. My Button Jointed Shirt Memory Bear allows those treasured clothes to become a beautiful keepsake that can be displayed and cherished for years to come.
Each button jointed memory bear made from clothing is individually handcrafted using your supplied garments. Unlike a traditional soft toy, this bear features movable arms and legs secured with traditional button joints, giving it an heirloom feel and allowing it to be gently posed.
Where possible, I recreate the look of the original clothing by incorporating collars, buttons, cuffs and recognisable details into the finished bear, helping preserve the character of the garment.
Every bear is lovingly handmade in my North East England studio and no two are ever the same.

How Ordering Works
Place your order online.
You'll receive a confirmation email containing my postal address and instructions for sending your clothing.
Carefully package and post your garments. Once received your order will go inot my next available diary space.
I'll handcraft your memory bear with great care and attention to detail.
Your completed keepsake will be presented in an organza gift bag before being securely packaged and returned using your chosen tracked delivery service or collection can be arranged from my North East studio

What makes this different from your standard memory bear?

Can I have embroidery?
Yes. You can personalise one or both feet with names, dates or meaningful messages.
How much clothing do I need?
One adult garment is normally enough. For XS or Small clothing I recommend sending two garments. Children's clothing usually requires 6–8 items depending on size.
Is this suitable for children?
No. This is a keepsake designed for display and is not suitable for children under 14 years of age.
Many customers choose to combine different garments to create a truly personal keepsake, such as pairing a favourite jumper with a treasured shirt to preserve even more memories.

Clothing requirements.
To create one Standard Memory Bear, I recommend:
1–2 adult-sized clothing items, or
6–8 baby clothes
10–12 newborn-sized baby clothes
Most fabrics work well, however very thick or heavy fabrics are not recommended, as they can affect the finish of the bear. If you’re unsure whether your items are suitable, I’m always happy to advise before you send anything.
All clothing should be clean and in reasonable condition. Signs of wear are normal and often add to the character of the finished bear.

Sending your clothing?
How to Send Your Clothing:
Step 1: Order & Payment – As soon as your order is placed and payment is completed, a confirmation email will be sent straight to your inbox.
Step 2: Delivery Details – This email will provide the exact address and instructions on where your clothing needs to go.
Step 3: Drop-off or Post
Locals: You will find details on how to schedule a face-to-face drop-off at my Washington studio (perfect for families across Newcastle, Sunderland, and Durham).
Posting: If you are mailing your items, I highly recommend using a tracked and insured service (such as Royal Mail Special Delivery) for absolute peace of mind with your irreplaceable garments.
Unused Fabric/Items
I treat every piece of clothing you send me with the utmost care and respect. Once your custom keepsake is complete, any remaining, usable fabric and buttons will be neatly packed and returned to you in a clearly labelled, sealed bag alongside your finished order.
I keep these pieces safely protected so that if you ever decide you would like to order additional keepsakes in the future your cherished textiles are perfectly preserved and ready to be used.

Shipping information.
All clothing should be sent to me using a tracked and insured postal service. This helps ensure your items arrive safely and can be tracked during transit.
Once your memory bear is complete, it will be returned to you via Royal Mail Tracked 24 or Tracked 48, depending on the option selected at checkout. You’ll receive tracking details once your order has been dispatched.
Return & Refund Policy
Returns & refunds
Because memory bears are bespoke items made using your own clothing, refunds are handled as follows:
Once work has started on your memory bear, the order cannot be cancelled or refunded.
If you wish to cancel your order before sending your items, please get in touch and include your order number. A full refund can be arranged at this stage.
If your items have been received but work has not yet started, a refund can be processed minus a 25% handling fee. This fee covers administration and preparation costs.
Postage costs for returning your items are not included and will need to be covered separately before your items are sent back to you.
If you have any questions about cancellations or refunds before ordering, please don’t hesitate to contact me — I’m always happy to clarify anything in advance.
I take great care to ensure every memory bear is made to a high standard. If, for any reason, your item arrives in an unsatisfactory condition due to workmanship, please get in touch within 14 days of receiving your order so I can review the issue and work with you to put things right.
